Walker Little
Summary
Walker Little was selected in the 2nd Round (#45 Overall) out of Stanford University. Little is a big-bodied tackle with excellent physical traits, strong run-blocking ability, and the mobility among large linemen to hold promise at left tackle for the Jaguars. His major assets are size, movement and run-game impact. The primary question is his development and consistency in pass protection—handling speed rushers, maintaining balance, and taking responsibility for the blind side consistently. If he capitalizes on his opportunity in 2025 and beyond, he could become a cornerstone tackle.
Strengths
Size, length & physical traits: Little has prototypical height (6′7″) and bulk (~325 lbs) for an NFL left tackle, giving him long arms and a wide frame to engage defenders and cover a larger area on the edge.
Run-blocking ability Reports and internal team commentary indicate Little has been “really good” in the Jaguars’ run game. His size and movement allow him to climb to the second level and sustain blocks in the ground game.
Footwork & mobility for his size (in early evaluation): Coming out of Stanford his draft profile noted his agility, knee bend, lateral movement, and ability to mirror pass rushers more effectively than many large tackles. Little attacks his man, playing with a wide base and the lateral agility to mirror and has the size, strength and quick feet to be effective as a position run-blocker. NFL Draft Buzz
Upward trajectory and opportunity: After some earlier seasons with limited starts, Little appears to be stepping into a full-time left tackle role for 2025. Some outlets call him a “breakout candidate” now that he has continuity and the chance to secure the blind side. Big Cat Country
Weaknesses
Pass-protection consistency: One clear area of concern: his performance in pass protection has been spotty. While one bad game once in a while doesn’t define the player, it underscores a vulnerability under edge rushers. SI
Balance, over-extension & motion/complex blocks: Despite his good traits, Little won’t consistently dominate and can lose balance over-extending, struggles to be consistent blocking in motion, and doesn’t have the natural foot quickness to cover a lot of ground. NFL Draft Buzz
Injury history / limited starting experience: Coming out of college, Little had a serious knee injury and opted out of his senior season, limiting his recent experience. His relatively limited full-time starting snaps in the NFL so far means he is still establishing himself. Big Cat Country
Physicality at the point of attack: While Little can be very effective when he wants, his former coaches have implored him to adopt more of a mean streak and physicality and less “Stanford wine and cheese” finesse.
Fit & Outlook
Little is well suited for an offence that values a powerful run game (where he excels) and where pass protection schemes can provide help (e.g., tight ends, slide protection) while he refines his technique against elite rushers. His size and movement profile fit the modern left tackle mold, if improved. If Little improves his pass-protection consistency, stays healthy, adds a little mean streak and locks down the left tackle spot, his ceiling is being a reliable, high-quality NFL starter at blind-side tackle. If the concerns (balance under edge rushers, motion blocks, consistency) linger, he may be a “good” starter but not elite.
