Kendrick Law

Kendrick Law Player Progression

Summary

Kendrick Law (22 years old) is a wide receiver who began his college career at Alabama (2021–2023) before transferring to Kentucky for the 2024 season, where he has played through 2025 with no additional transfers. In 2025, Law started throughout the season and recorded 53 receptions for 540 yards and 3 touchdowns, serving as a versatile offensive weapon with the ability to contribute both as a receiver and on designed touches. His 2025 production earned him All-SEC consideration, building on his earlier role at Alabama where he developed as a multi-phase contributor and special teams presence prior to transferring. A graduate transfer after earning his bachelor’s degree in Consumer Science at Alabama (hopes to own a Casino one day), Law is widely viewed as a high-energy, team-first competitor whose versatility, toughness, and willingness to contribute in multiple roles consistently draw praise from coaches. Before focusing on football, Law was a track superstar in Louisiana and ran a 10.48-second 100-meter dash in high school and at Alabama, Law was one of the strongest players on the team "pound-for-pound," reportedly benching over 400 pounds despite weighing just over 200. Teammates frequently highlight his physicality with the ball in his hands and special teams background as indicators of his overall football character. From an injury standpoint, Law has been largely durable throughout his career, missing most of his 2022 freshman season with a torn hamstring and two games in 2024 against Vanderbilt and South Carolina while at Alabama due to a lower body issue.

Strengths

  • YAC Attack: Jet sweeps, orbit motions, and quick hitters are where he’s most dangerous and hits top speed quickly due to his 100-meter track background. Gained an incredible 93% of his total receiving yards after the catch in 2025 and broke our After Catch scoring system (5.70/5.00).

  • More Yak than Waterbug: Runs harder than expected and will break arm tackles and fight through contact rather than just avoid it. Doesn’t hesitate with strong ball carrier vision and attacks space aggressively once the ball is in his hands.

  • Creative OC’s Dream: Can line up in the slot, backfield, or in motion — creates matchup and leverage advantages pre-snap. Builds speed across the formation and can outrun angles if he gets a step. Forces defenses to account for motion and horizontal stretch, even when not targeted.

  • Special Teams Value: Return ability translates directly — vision + burst + toughness. Tough competitor who will block, take hits, and play through contact — not a finesse-only player.

Weaknesses

  • Route Twig: Most effective when schemed touches are built in and doesn’t consistently win on full-field route concepts. Can threaten initially, but doesn’t consistently get on top of DBs and control the route downfield.

  • Separation on Timing Routes: On digs, comebacks, and intermediate breaks, he doesn’t consistently generate clean windows. If not given touches through motion/screens, his impact can fade within the structure of the offense.

  • Not So Special Delivery: Release package is mundane. When corners get hands on him early, it disrupts timing and he doesn’t consistently counter with technique.

  • Functional Ball Skills: Can catch routine passes, but not a consistent hands-catcher in traffic or off-target situations. Not a player you trust in tight windows or jump-ball situations.

Outlook

Law projects as a versatile, physical offensive weapon with strong build-up speed, contact balance, and the ability to contribute as a receiver, runner, and return option, giving him added value beyond a traditional wideout role. He fits best in spread and motion-heavy offenses that utilize jet sweeps, screens, and manufactured touches to get the ball in his hands while also incorporating vertical shots off play-action. Law is trending as a Day 3 prospect with a Round 4–6 projection in the 2026 NFL Draft, with upside tied to his versatility and special teams impact.
