KC Concepcion
Summary
Kevin “KC” Concepcion (21 years old) is an explosive wide receiver and return specialist. The Texas A&M product was selected an All-American return specialist as a Junior in 2025. Concepcion averaged 18.2 yards per punt return and scored 2 touchdowns. He also produced 61 receptions, a career-high 919 yards, and 9 touchdowns on offense as the featured playmaker for the Aggies.. After two seasons at NC State, Concepcion transferred to College Station in 2025. Despite Concepcion becoming a well-known name in 2025, he also produced impressive numbers as a Freshman for NC State with 71 receptions, 839 yards, and 10 touchdowns. This past season has put the A&M star into the spotlight as a potential late 1st round pick in April. While slightly undersized for a typical 1st round WR, there are few players as explosive as Concepcion. The Charlotte, NC product seems poised to be selected in the first 40 picks during the 2026 Draft.
Strengths
Explosive Dynamo: You will be hard pressed to find players with Concepcion’s acceleration. He is able to get to top speed quickly once he gets the ball in his hands. This skillset makes him a threat anywhere on the field.
Special Teams Value: While no one will draft a player in the first round for their return abilities, Concepcion’s added value in the return game should be viewed as a major plus. He offers game breaking ability and could help tilt a game or two over the course of a long season in that role.
Separation : Concepcion does not just gain separation with his speed, he is tremendously quick and sudden at the top of his routes. Some players with track-like speed struggle in and out of their breaks, but that is not the case with the A&M All-American.
Versatility: Beyond his return abilities, Concepcion will allow his play caller to deploy him out wide, in the slot, or as a ball carrier. Texas A&M used Concepcion mostly out wide this past season, but also deployed him in the slot about about 1/3 of the time. Furthermore, going back to his Freshman season, NC State handed the ball to him 41 times in which he totaled 320 rushing yards for 7.8 yards per carry. A creative play caller will find ways to get him the ball.
Weaknesses
Drops: This is undoubtedly the first thing Concepcion will have to clean up at the pro level. He was credited with a 10% drop rate over his last two seasons.
Size: Most teams will look at Concepcion’s frame and immediately view him as a slot receiver, even though he has displayed the versatility to play all over the formation at the college level. Concepcion also has sub-31” arms so questions about his catch radius could be a factor.
Blocking Physicality: Has not proved to be an asset in the run game as a blocker on the perimeter. His size limits him to some degree in that category, but with improved technique and focus, he could improve as a pro.
Contested Catch Situations: Concepcion only converted on roughly 45% of contested catch opportunities as a collegiate, meaning he will need to get the ball on manufactured touches (screens, end-arounds, etc.) or gain separation to provide a consistent impact on offense.
Outlook
Concepcion projects as an exciting playmaker in a variety of roles. This is a player who has proven to make an impact at every level of the defense and as someone that can put fear into any opposing defense. While he does have limitations with his size and wingspan, the biggest issue with his game is the drops. If Concepcion can clean up the drops, he offers Pro Bowl potential as a WR and Return Specialist. Overall, KC Concepcion should be an exciting and dynamic playmaker who is capable of making an immediate impact. Expect Concepcion to get a lot of interest from teams selected in the back half of the 1st round.
